LZ Granderson is an OpEd columnist for the Los Angeles Times, ABC News political contributor, and host of the network’s LGBTQ-focused podcast, Life Out Loud. The Emmy award-winning journalist recently left ESPN after 17 years where he served as a senior writer, radio host, and co-host of television’s SportsNation among other roles. Prior to joining ABC, LZ worked for CNN as a columnist and political contributor where he helped cover the election of President Obama, the death of Trayvon Martin, and the uprising in Ferguson. A member of the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association Hall of Fame, LZ is currently working on his first novel.
